Klosterbrauerei Andechs is one of Bavaria’s most distinctive monastery breweries, located on the Holy Mountain of Andechs above Lake Ammersee. Run by the Benedictines of St. Boniface in Munich and Andechs, the brewery combines living monastic tradition, Bavarian hospitality and genuine regional beer culture.
The roots of Andechs brewing are closely connected to the long pilgrimage history of the Holy Mountain, where pilgrims have been welcomed for centuries. Today, all Andechser monastery beers are brewed exclusively in Andechs, using traditional brewing methods, modern technology and the time needed for balanced, characterful beer. This gives the beers their smooth, full-bodied and unmistakably monastic character.
The Andechser range offers exceptional variety within a strong monastery beer profile, from Andechser Hell, Spezial Hell, Bergbock Hell and Export Dunkel to Doppelbock Dunkel, Weissbier Hell, Weissbier Dunkel, Weizenbock, Radler and alcohol-free options. With its Holy Mountain origin, Benedictine heritage and strong Bavarian reputation, Andechs adds depth, authenticity and outstanding recognition to a high-quality beer portfolio.
